Lukas Podolski’s sponsors adidas have cheekily used the forward’s own substitute woes in a new marketing hook.
Following Podolski’s two-goal haul in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over West
Ham yesterday night, the sportswear giants tweeted a close-up picture of the
29-year-old in the centre of a lock-like penalty box alongside the
caption ‘unlock the game’.
Furthermore, they brandished a ‘no substitute’ heading next to their own logo in reference to the gripes made by the German earlier in the week
about constantly being replaced by Arsene Wenger during Gunners games.
