Culled From Leadership Newspaper
No fewer than 15 senior military officers including 10 generals have been tried before a court-martial and found guilty of giving information and ammunition to Boko Haram terrorists.
In the recent past, the Army and the Defence headquarters have raised the alarm that some of their officers and men are leaking official information to the terrorists and that some of them have been arrested and arraigned before some court-martials in some army divisions in the north.

Military sources told Leadership that some of them who were tried at their division levels still have hope until the final review of the judgement at the headquarters in Abuja.
“There are a lot of arrests that have been made over some officers who were sabotaging the ongoing counter-insurgency operations. The suspects include about 10 generals and other ranks, not to talk of soldiers who have been found culpable of sabotaging our operations. They are facing trial before court-martials set up by their divisions; some have been found guilty, and some are still facing trial. Once the court martial rule, the recommendations are forwarded to the Army Headquarters or Defence Headquarters as the
case may be,” a source disclosed.

Nigerians Own Most Expensive Houses In London

Do you that about 70% of the most expensive buildings in London are owned by Nigerians? The Chairman of New Nation, an empowerment-oriented group, Mr Charles Dukwe, has just made the shocking revelation. He said citizens of the UK avoided buying houses in the area due to their high prices.
In the words of Dukwe: “There is a street in London; it is called Edgerton Crescent. Edgerton Crescent is the most expensive street in the world. Houses there are worth £3m to £4m.
“British celebrities that have money don’t buy houses on that street. They will tell you it is too expensive. But 70 per cent of the houses there are owned by Nigerians.
“The thing that is missing in Nigeria is compassion. We want to use compassion as a value and drive it through people so that people can help each other in the society. Our aim is to make compassion a core value in the society.”
The philanthropist lamented that Nigerians were investing funds from the country in Europe and other Western countries, leaving the people at home to remain jobless and poor.

Fresh reports reaching us from the world of American music industry indicate that the troubled singer Chris Brown has been freed.
Surprisingly, this is coming after Rihanna’s ex-boyfriend was sentenced to 131 more days in prison on May 9, meaning he has served only 108 days out of the due term, according to TMZ.
Actually Chris had been sentenced to 1 year in jail over violating the probation in the Rihanna’s case, but as he had already spent 234 in either rehabilitation center or prison, the resulting term was 131.
However it is not the end of the musician’s problems: his D.C. trial is to begin in the next few months. It
would be recalled that last October Brown and his bodyguard were accused of beating some Adams Paker, who allegedly tried to photobomb the shot Brown was taking.

"Ask Your Governors How They Spend Their Allocations"-Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo Iweala

While delivering a speech at Babcock university's convocation at Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Finance minister Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has challenged state governors to tell Nigerians what they do with the huge allocations they receive regularly from the Federal Government.
According to her, many of the states get monetary allocations that far outweigh the annual budget of some neigbouring countries to Nigeria.
Okonjo-Iweala, who urged Nigerians to be more discerning, noted that the governors had no reason not to develop their states, given the huge amounts they regularly got from Federation Account.
According to her, it is high time Nigerians held their governors accountable over the money collect on their behalf to accelerate development of their states.

Okonjo-Iweala said:
“Clearly, the Federal Government cannot do it alone; we need the private sector to work with us and we have reached out to them in transforming Nigeria. But, in addition to that, we should ask ourselves what is the role of the state and local governments in supporting our transformation.
“A lot of attention is turned on the Federal Government. So, we also need to ask what our states and local governments do with the resources they get.”

But Abati said the President did not use any word like amnesty.

He said what Jonathan said was that opportunities had been created for those who wanted to denounce terrorism through the Presidential Fact-Finding Committee and Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolutions of Conflict in the North Eastern part of Nigeria.

                 Ice Prince & Jamal - May 2014 - BellaNaija.com 01
Ice Prince is all about the Naira, at least for now.
The rap star in an interview with The Nigerian Tribune opened up about marriage, the bleaching rumours, his son and his ex Eva Alordiah.
The “Whiskey” star who wants a honest girl as his future Mrs, says “I am just 27 years old. I don’t have any brother or mentor that got married at 27. So, I have about five years to go. I have to make more money and build a house in Banana Island before I take a woman home.” on marriage plans.
On bleaching reports: “I was not pissed off; I only replied them saying ‘bad man bleach, never that’. It did not mean I was upset. In fact, I laughed about it because I don’t see how on earth I’m going to bleach. I’m black to the bones. As you can see, I have really black knuckles, so when I put them on Instagram, it looks like I bleached. For the record, I am not body-conscious. I don’t powder my face; I don’t even use the
mirror.”

At least 60 people have been reported dead as suspected Boko Haram members today, June 1 bombed a bar and a brothel located near a major military base in Mubi, Adamawa State.
According to Sahara Reporters, the location under attack was "Kaban", usually visited by both civilian and military patrons. Sources report that the explosion happened at about 6 p.m. It has not been determined whether the victims were soldiers or civilians.
The facility is not far away from the headquarters of the Special Operations Battalion (SOB) of the Nigerian army in Mubi. It is worth noting that the Battalion is involved in the Nigerian government's counter-offensive against Boko Haram's attacks.

Soldiers based in Mubi frequently join civilians to eat, drink and dance at the watering hole; military commanders generally warned soldiers not to stay at the joint past 4 p.m.
According to the AFP news agency that quoted one of the police officers, the bomb struck a crowd at a football match and dozens may have died, but this has not been confirmed.
However, Reuters news agency quoted sources as saying that the victims had been watching a televised match in a bar.
In recent weeks, Boko Haram has carried out deadly attacks in the northeast Nigerian states of Adamawa, Borno and tone, despite the Federal Government's declaration of a state if emergency in the three states.

Ex-Osun Governor, Isiaka Adeleke, defects to APC, says PDP is a party of thugs

The first civilian governor of Osun state, Isiaka Adeleke, on Saturday described the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as a platform that breeds and supports thuggery and violence.

A United Kingdom-based Islamic preacher, Mizanur Rahman, is being investigated by police after a video showed him praising Boko Haram for kidnapping over 200 schoolgirls.
The 31-year-old of Palmers Green, north London, claimed in the video-recording posted online that killing non-Muslims was ‘not necessarily a bad thing.’
The sect had abducted the pupils from Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State since April 14.
A report by a UK tabloid, Daily Mail, said Rahman also praised the terror group for its activities.
He said in the video, “People want to make it out as though history began on the day these girls were taken from – sorry I should say these women – were taken from this high school in Nigeria.
“They didn’t do to these girls what the Nigerian government had been doing to the Muslims all these years. They didn’t rape anybody. They didn’t torture. They didn’t murder any of these girls.”
The preacher was quoted to have described the terrorist group as being “full of good messages,” including its support for al-Qaeda.
