Madam Dora Akunyili Dead or Alive?

Many are worried and the tension increased on Friday evening when rumours of her death hit the cyber space but the reported death of former minister of information Prof. Dora Akunyili in an Indian hospital, where she was rushed to for medical attention, has been dispelled by her media aide, Mr Isaac Umunna.
“I don’t know why people are peddling this rumour. It is baseless. And, as you may know, former governor Peter Obi only three days ago visited her in the hospital in India and he was received by her husband and her doctors who confirmed to him that she was responding to treatment.
"And, as I speak to you now, I just came out from the church. That was why I could not take your call earlier because I was in the church. If the rumour was true, I wouldn’t have been in the church now. And I have been in contact with them. I have been speaking with some of our people who are with her, and we spoke not long ago. So no such thing they are saying happened.”
Umunna, who spoke to Leadership in Abuja insisted that Madam Akunyili is responding to treatment and they believe she would be fine at the end of the day and return home safely.

Oprah Winfrey Throws Her 66-Year Old Step-Mum Barbara Winfrey Out Of Her $1.4 Million Mansion (Photos)

Last month, Oprah Winfrey's step-mum Barbara Winfrey, 66, granted an interview where she alluded there is more to Oprah's relationship with best friend Gayle King. She also said Oprah is controlling and different from who we see on TV....She even said she and her husband were treated like second class citizens. At a gala at Oprah's palatial home in Santa Barbara, they were seated far away from celebrities in attendance and told not to socialize with them.
Well, she is learning the hard way as Oprah has thrown her out of the $1.4 million mansion she lived in with Oprah's dad for 14 years. This is after a vicious 18-month divorce battle with Oprah's father,Vernon Winfrey.Babara who is now homeless told Mailonline
‘That woman has set out to ruin me, destroy me.
To take this house away is petty, this has been my home for 14 years.
Oprah’s a billionaire three times over, her help live better than this. She said publicly that she offered to sell the house and give me the proceeds, but that’s a lie, she never said that.
Oprah owns property all over the world so there is no reason to sell this house other than to spite me, it’s a personal vendetta.’
‘I’m leaving with less than I had before the marriage, but eventually I’m gonna have a home as nice as this or better.

That’s why I feel sorry for her because I don’t understand the evilness.I’m at the point in life when I should be enjoying my retirement. Instead I have to contend with this.
There’s a difference between wanting to hurt someone, but to destroy them? To take their money, to take their credit, take their property, I don’t understand that, that’s evilness I can’t comprehend.Oprah took it all, after 14 years I haven’t got a cent to show for it.

What she has done is nothing short of evil, but she doesn’t scare me, her actions cause me to disrespect her.We spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on furniture, everything was high end...

BOKO HARAM TERROR GROUP RUNS OUT OF FOOD SUPPLY

Indications have emerged that the need to feeding the over 200 students of Government Secondary School, Chibok, abducted by Boko Haram insurgents on April 14 has put pressure on the Islamic terrorist group to steal food items and loot communities close to Sambisa Forest in the North East.
According to www.punchng.com Investigations revealed that the violent Islamic sect had in the past week stepped up the looting of villages, markets and food stores in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states for food items including grains and bread.
Residents of these communities said the rate at which the insurgents stole their foodstuffs was unprecedented, noting that the pressure to feed the abducted girls might have contributed to the desperation of the insurgents to steal and kill the villagers in the process.

One of the villagers, Bukar Umar, who resides in Kamuyya village in Borno State, told one of our correspondents that though it was normal for the insurgents to ask communities to contribute money towards “God’s work,’’ they were usually satisfied when communities raised money for them.

Minister Of Information Has Declared Jonathan’s Office Vacant

The All Progressives Congress (APC) said the comment credited to information minister Labaran Maku that the federal government was spending significantly on security in three of its controlled states was a categorical declaration of the office of the president vacant by the minister.

According to APC, by that statement Maku has proved that President Goodluck Jonathan is only the leader of the PDP and not actually a President of and Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Friday in Lagos by its national publicity, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the APC described Maku’s comment as “a tragic and insensitive statement from an honourable minister of the Federal Republic about innocent children, some of whom are minors with neither political leaning”.
“The campaign to rescue the abducted girls has now been clearly polarized and politicized by the federal government. So sad, so unfortunate, so callous, so mean, so irresponsible, so brazen, so not parental, so not governmental,” APC declares.

Meet a 57-year-old woman, Janice Haley, who is obsessed with tigers and keeps them as pets in the back garden of her home in Orlando, Florida, USA.

2015: Solve Nigeria’s Problems By Voting Out PDP – Amaechi

Rivers State Governor and Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has again stressed that the way to solve the numerous problems facing the country is for the electorate to vote out the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in next year’s election.
Amaechi spoke at the 2nd International Conference on Democracy and Good Governance with the theme, ‘Nigeria’s Democracy: Issues and Challenges’ held at the new Dr Obi Wali Convention Centre in Port Harcourt, Wednesday.
According to him, something is wrong with the country and posed to participants at the conference the question: “Do you like Nigeria the way it is now? (The audience answered ‘No’.) Do you like the way Nigeria is being governed now? (‘No’, the audience again chorused.) Simple, you have one answer. Vote out those who have kept us inside this kind of situation, vote them out whether they are from Niger Delta or from Southern Delta or from whatever Delta. We need to vote them out now and change Nigeria.
“We need to change Nigeria now and that is what APC offers, and that is what I stand for. If you are not satisfied the way Nigeria is being governed now, it means that they should not be given another chance. If you are not satisfied that there is corruption and corruption is called ‘common stealing’, if you are not satisfied with that, vote them out.

Manchester United owner Malcolm Glazer dies aged 86

Manchester United owner Malcolm Glazer dies aged 85

Malcolm Glazer, the head of the family that own Manchester United, died on Wednesday morning aged 86, in his hometown of Tampa.
While Glazer drove the controversial process that took control of United for the family in 2005 by leveraging the club with a £500m-plus debt, his recent failing health had meant that two of his sons, Joel and Avram, took on the hands-on role of leading the club. His passing should have little if any effect on the overall structure of the club, with the family retaining a 90% share with the remaining 10% listed on the New York stock exchange.
A statement from the 20-times champions last night said: “The thoughts of all at the club are with the family at this time.”

Fellow Nigerians,
1.   I greet and felicitate with you all, today, as we mark 15 years of uninterrupted democratic governance in our beloved country.
2.  Our dear nation, Nigeria, has certainly come a long way and made notable progress since our first Democracy Day on May 29, 1999 when the military finally relinquished power and handed over to a democratically-elected government, marking the true beginning of a government of the people, by the people, for the people.”

3.  Although I have ordered a low-key commemoration of this year’s Democracy Day in deference to the current mood of the nation, there can be no doubt that the past 15 years, the longest period of sustained democratic governance in our country, have been a blessing to us, as a people.

Being A Single Mom Is Sweet, Not That I’m Encouraging Other Women- Waje

Waje in a new interview with NETng has said being a single mom is sweet. She says though some people think she is trying to encourage younger ones, but she is only stating a fact, her own personal experience. She also spoke about finding a companion one day.
You have always said you are single, why is that?
I don`t know why, but I just feel God has a way of doing things. I have so much on my hands now, let that matter rest now, let me not go and marry now before my husband will say he wants pounded yam, cooked by his wife, not by a maid. Then I will leave everything I am doing and I will be pounding yam. But when somebody who understand my kind of person and my job comes along, then it will be easier for me. After all the troubles of the day, the traffic, somebody getting you angry, there should be that one person who can calm you. Everybody would love to have somebody as a companion, so do I.
