The former National chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, disclosed to the party members yesterday that his
mission was accomplished before leaving the exalted seat of the PDP.
The former National Chairman, speaking at a reception convened at
Lelewa Hotel in Yola by the state exco of PDP to honour and congratulate
him for a job well done during his tenure as the chairman of the party,
said was happy to have ensured internal democracy, discipline and
ideology in the PDP, which was lacking before.
He further called on PDP stakeholders to come together and give
authentic leadership to its citizenry so that the state can enjoy the
dividends of democracy which has been missing
Tukur urged stakeholders to work very hard ahead of 2015 general elections which has been the bone of contention so as wrest power from the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.

He told the gathering that the mission they sent him to Abuja has been accomplished, “you sent me on a mission and that mission is accomplished,” he said.
Among those present at the reception for Tukur in Yola were former
Governor and Minister of Youth Development, Boni Haruna; the Adamawa
state Deputy Governor, Bala James Ngillari; Ambassador Wilberforce Juta,
Col. Bitrus Sawa retired, Senator Bello Tukur, DIG Philemon Leha (rtd)
and the PDP state party Chairman Chief Joel Madaki.
Others are Awwal Tukur, Capt. Altine Inuwa, Hon. Saad M.C Tahir, Dr.
Silas Zwingina, and Hon. Fons Hungubi who later joined up for the
reception.
Bamanga explained that his mission, which was to reform and strengthen
the PDP as a party and make it formidable, was accomplished. He noted
also that he has been able to leave the party with programmes and agenda
for it to follow.
“I have been so humbled and grateful for this gathering. I was sent on a
mission and that mission is accomplished- that mission is to go and
reform and strengthen our party and make it formidable and that is what I
have done,” he said.
