New Born Baby Rescued As Mother Tries To Flush It Down Hospital Toilet!

 Chinese lady who was pretty sure that she had some digestive problems rushed to the hospital only to discover that she was pregnant. Upon arrival at the hospital she went to the toilet and delivered a healthy baby right up there. After a while people started to gather outside a lavatory trying to persuade a shocked woman to open the door. According to doctor Gao Yuwen, who was on duty, as the woman entered the toilet she immediately locked herself.

Shortly a newborn baby’s cries were heard from inside and the doctor knocked on the door asking whether she was okay. The woman kept silence and didn’t react to the entreaties. When a security guard broke the door down they saw a heavily weeping baby girl in the toilet pan and the woman trying to flush her down. The baby was still connected to the mother with an umbilical cord and this fact saved her life. The doctors claim both mother and baby in a good state and recovering from the shock.

Alison-Madueke gets court injunction stopping reps from probing N10b jet scandal

Minister of Petroleum, Dieziani Alison-Madueke, who has been in the middle of a 10bn jet scandal has secured a court injunction stopping the House of Representatives from further investigating her, Premium Times reports. Alison-Madueke had approached a federal high court in Abuja where she asked the court to restrain the House members to discontinue any probe involving her.
Justice . R. Mohammed who presided over the case, barred the house members or their committees  from summoning her for any further investigations or even ordering her arrest if she failed to appear before the house. According to reports, the court injuction was secured on April 14th but was only made public today as the House intended to commence further investigation on the matter today.

Sad: Veteran Nigerian Film Maker Amaka Igwe is Dead

Amaka Igwe a veteran Nigerian filmmaker who produced the soap operas Checkmate and Fuji House of Commotion, died yesterday in her hometown, Enugu.

‘She suffered an asthma attack and was immediately rushed to the hospital after initial interventions had failed.’ said a statement gotten via The Net ‘She passed on before getting to the hospital’.  Amaka Igwe was in Enugu to work on a new soap opera died after suffering an Asthma attack.

The death of Mrs. Igwe’s death who has a new station ‘Q Networks’ launching on Dstv soon, will no doubt leave a void in the Nigerian film industry and she will be greatly missed by a lot of people. She is survived by her husband, and 3 children.

Egyptian Court Sentences Leader of Muslim Brotherhood Alongside 682 Supporters To Death

An Egyptian court sentenced the leader of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood and 682 supporters to death on Monday, intensifying a crackdown on the movement that could trigger protests and political violence ahead of an election next month.

The Brotherhood, in a statement issued in London, described the ruling as chilling and said it would “continue to use all peaceful means to end military rule”.

In another case signaling growing intolerance of dissent by military-backed authorities, a pro-democracy movement that helped ignite the uprising that toppled autocrat Hosni Mubarak in 2011 was banned by court order, judicial sources said.

The death sentence passed on Mohamed Badie, the Brotherhood’s general guide, will infuriate members of the group which has been the target of raids, arrests and bans since the army forced President Mohamed Mursi from power in July.

Some Brotherhood members fear pressure from security forces and the courts could drive some young members to violence against the movement’s old enemy, the Egyptian state.

Badie, considered a conservative hardliner, was charged with crimes including inciting violence that followed the army overthrow of Mursi, who is also on trial on an array of charges.

The slight, 70-year-old veterinary professor stood trial in Cairo in a separate case hours after the sentence was affirmed.

“If they executed me one thousand times I will not retreat from the right path,” Badie was quoted as saying by lawyer Osama Mursi, who attended one of his trials in Cairo.

The comments were published on the Facebook page of Osama Mursi, son of the Brotherhood leader ousted as president.

Two security officials told Reuters that Badie appeared relaxed and joked, asking other Brotherhood members to buy him the red outfit that prisoners condemned to death wear.

Tough measures against the Brotherhood suggest the authorities still see it as a major threat, even though most of its leaders and thousands of members are behind bars.

Authorities are well aware that the movement founded in 1928 has survived repression under successive Egyptian autocrats.

Suarez, Hazard wins PFA Player of the Year awards

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez won England’s Professional Footballers’ Association’s Player of the Year award on Sunday.
This time last year the Uruguay international was starting a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic.
But now Suarez has been chosen by his fellow top-flight professionals in England as the outstanding player in the Premier League after spearheading Liverpool’s title bid.
Suarez received the award during a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House hotel after flying down from Liverpool following a 2-0 defeat by Chelsea at Anfield that dented the Merseysiders’ challenge for a first English title in the Premier League era.
The 27-year old Suarez has scored 30 league goals in 31 appearances, despite his ban for biting Ivanovic carrying over into the start of this season.
“The Premier League is full of really great players and so it is a great honour when these players recognise your work on the pitch,” said Suarez, who threatened to leave Liverpool at one stage after claiming Reds manager Brendan Rodgers had gone back on a deal to let him move to a Champions League club.
However, Suarez added Sunday: “I always try my best for the team and it is nice to get awards but really this is for my team-mates and the staff at Liverpool because without their help I wouldn’t have this prize.”
Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, who didn’t play at Anfield due to injury, was named the PFA Young Player of the Year.
Suarez and Liverpool strike partner Daniel Sturridge were both included in the PFA Premier League team of the year, also chosen by their fellow top-flight professionals in England.
The duo were joined by Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard in the XI. Chelsea also had three players in the PFA side in goalkeeper Petr Cech, defender Gary Cahill and Hazard.

Ribadu probed me, my late wife ­– Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that the pioneer Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, investigated him and his late wife, Stella, even when he was in charge as the nation’s leader.
Obasanjo, whose administration created the anti-graft agency, also alleged that the manner Ribadu carried out the war against corruption created enemies for him (Obasanjo).
He made the claims after the former EFCC boss presented a paper titled, “Illicit Financial Flow and Governance of Natural Resources,” at the 3rd Tana High Level Forum on Security in Africa in Badir Dar, Ethiopia at the weekend.
The former President said that rather than being afraid of the enemies Ribadu created for him, “it is rather them that fear me.”Obasanjo, who acknowledged that the fight against corruption “comes with enemies,” did not tell the audience about the outcome of the investigations against him, Stella, and his close associates. He also did not name the enemies that Ribadu created for him.
But the former President disclosed that Ribadu almost lost his life when he was poisoned in the course of his duty. He described the incident as a serious case that was “a matter of life and death.” He told the gathering how a serving minister in his administration, who was his senior in secondary school, was found wanting by the EFCC and “there was no issue of senior again.”
Obasanjo, who is also the chairman of the Tana Forum, agreed with Ribadu’s submission that a willing political leadership was the epicentre of any anti-corruption campaign.
Stating that leadership needed relevant laws to work with, he recalled how the bill establishing the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other-Related Offences Commission was whittled down by the National Assembly members who felt they could be victims if it became a law.
Ribadu had in his presentation offered strategies that African countries could follow to check illicit financial flow and repatriate looted funds stashed away in other countries.

The Lagos State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party has charged Security Agencies, especially the State Security Service (SSS), to arrest former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of APC, for making apparently Inflammatory, Inciting and Criminal utterances capable of worsening the current Security challenges in the Country.

Gov. Tanko To Meet With President Goodluck

Gov. Tanko Al-makura of Nasarawa state will soon meet with President Goodluck Jonathan to find lasting solution to the recurring crisis in the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, announced this on Sunday, shortly after an emergency security meeting held at Government House in Lafia.
Idris explained that it has become imperative for the governor to meet with the president to highlight the security challenges facing the state.
He said that though security operatives in the state were on top of the situation, the assistance of the Federal Government was required to tackle the situation.
The commissioner said that five people lost their lives in the crisis which occurred on Saturday in Iggah, Nasarawa-Eggon Local Government Area of the state.
He said that a team of security personnel had been drafted to the troubled area, adding that normalcy had since returned to the area.
The heads of the all the security agencies in the state attended the emergency meeting.

37 former PDP Reps to present impeachment motion against Jonathan

THE battle for political supremacy in the House of Representatives is set to be rekindled with the plan by 37 former members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to present an impeachment motion against President Goodluck Jonathan.
The legislators, who are allegedly acting in concert with their governors who defected with them to All Progressives Congress, APC, are also following up their plans with a high profile sensitisation campaign against alleged misdeeds of the administration.
The plan to present the impeachment motion Vanguard learnt is, however, being seriously opposed by Speaker Aminu Tambuwal and some PDP loyalists in the House who have warned the 37 members that the plan could worsen their precarious position.
The impeachment notice, which has been articulated into 30 points according to sources in the camp of the legislators, is a narrative of alleged misdeeds of the administration including financial misappropriation, unaccountability, extra-budgetary spending, among others.

Army to Commence Mass Recruitment in May to fight Boko Haram

  

Following some of the resolutions made at the National Security Council meeting in Abuja on Thursday, the Federal Government has given the armed forces and other security agencies the nod to embark on mass recruitment.

An officer in the Nigeria army, who spoke on condition of anonymity made this known on Sunday in Abuja.
He explained that the move was to enhance the fight against terrorism in the country, adding that President Goodluck Jonathan gave the  directive for more recruitment into the army in March after the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Kenneth Minimah, had briefed him about the operations of the army.
The source said the army did not  begin  the recruitment immediately because they needed to expand training facilities in parts of the country.
He revealed that because of  Boko Haram and other security challenges in the country, the army would commence the recruitment in May 2014, adding that they (army) would now be recruiting twice a year unlike in the past when it was once.
“It is true that recruitment has to be beefed up. The Federal Government has granted that request but recruitment is not just the number” the source said. ”You must note that you cannot produce a soldier in three days or  weeks; this is a  serious business involving the requisite facilities for training”.
“If you want to raise your recruitment for instance, from 1,000 recruits to 2, 000 per annum, you must increase the facilities for their training.
“And I can tell you that it takes time for you to increase such facilities. You see, the issue is that the country has neglected the Army for so long; several public commentators have questioned why public funds should be spent to maintain a large army when there is no war. But is it wise for you to start screaming where are the soldiers when you did not make arrangement for training just because there is a threat now?
“For you to increase the number of those being recruited, you have to increase the structures for recruitment because as you are recruiting, you are training” the source said.
He pointed out that the structures on the ground can only accommodate a particular number of recruits.
Meanwhile, the Director of Defence Information, Maj.-Gen Chris Olukolade, on Sunday, said that the military was satisfied with the ongoing operations against insurgents in Borno State.
He made the assertion during an interview with journalists on the sidelines of a media tour of military operations in Maiduguri.
According to him, the troops had been able to sustain momentum in terms of the offensive against the terrorists.
“The bases we visited are part of the responses to the terrorist offensive and that is an achievement; the military had moved close to where the insurgents are” he said.
Olukolade further stated that the soldiers were highly motivated, and expressed believes that they would see more successes from the troops.

'My uncle has been sleeping with me since 2013' 12yr old girl reveals

Anthony Wayas (pictured left) a resident of Finima community in Bonny LGA of Rivers State has been accused by his 12 year old niece of having sex with her since 2013, Tribune reports.

 

Anthony, who is the brother to the girl's father took responsibility for her after her father passed away when she was just a year old. By the time she turned 12, he started having sex with her.

 

His evil act came to light on Monday April 21 after the girl told her neighbour what her uncle was doing to her. The neighbour then told another neighbor who told the youth leader in the community and Anthony was accosted in his home where he was badly beaten and had to be rescued by the police. Narrating what happened to Tribune, the little girl said

"Uncle Anthony is a father to me. He is my father’s brother. My father is dead and my mother is in our village at Adamawa State, married to another man now. I don’t go to school. I finished Primary 6 and was supposed to start JSS1 but I was not sent to secondary school by my uncle. I usually stay at home to do house chores. I would then take my cousins to school and come back home to work. I would go back to the school in the afternoon to pick them. My  Uncle started sleeping with me in 2013. How it happened was that he would leave for work in the morning and come back in the afternoon while his wife is away at work where she works as a cleaner. He would take the children to the big room, asking them to stay there, and would take me to the small room. He would remove my pant and push me on the bed. He would then remove his trousers and bring out his manhood. He would then put it inside me and sleep with me. I can’t count the number of times it has happened. When I told the wife, she threatened to return me to our village. On Saturday, April 19, my uncle asked me to mix hot and cold water for him to take his bath. He took the bucket to the bathroom and asked me to bring his sponge to him. As I took the sponge to him, he dragged me into the bathroom and had sex with me. There were people in the house but he warned me not to shout.  The following morning, I told one woman in our compound. She, in turn, told someone and when the person interviewed me, he called in the Finima youths. I am surprised that my uncle is denying.” she said

Anthony denied the accusation made by the little girl saying he has suffered erectal dysfunctional for a long time due to a sexually transmitted disease he suffered sometime ago.

"I am surprised at what she said that I was having sex with her because it is not true. I have a problem with my manhood which has resulted in my inability to make love to a woman. I have not been experiencing erection at all. I was told by my doctor that it was caused by syphilis that I once had. He said the sexually transmitted disease was not well treated when I had it. It also resulted in my having zero sperm in my semen which the doctor said would not make me have a baby. I was given Proviron to boost my sperm count.” he said.

Anthony's wife, who the girl accused as an accomplice, says her husband has sexual challenges and that Karen never told her of her husband's sexual advances

"We have been married for 14 years but, initially, my husband had low sperm count. He married another woman after me but we got pregnant at the same time after several prayers. I have a child and the other woman has two. She has left and I am the one taking care of her children with mine. Karen is my husband’s niece. She came to us after her father died and she was just about a year old then. I am confused about the whole issue because my husband had been having weak erection for over a year and had not been able to make love to me. We sought medical help and the doctor recommended some drugs.  Since the drugs are expensive, we have resorted to prayers. I am not defending my husband but I don’t understand how he was able to have sexual relationship with  the girl with his current condition. And Karen did not inform me as she claimed. If she did, I would have admitted it,” the wife said.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer in Rivers State, Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the incident and says investigation is currently going on and if he is found guilty, he would be charged to court.

Giggs is the new Guardiola - Lindegaard

Manchester United have unearthed a new Pep Guardiola in the shape of interim boss Ryan Giggs, according to goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard.

Giggs, handed the managerial reins for United's final four matches of the season in the wake of the sacking of David Moyes, presided over a comfortable 4-0 victory against Norwich City at Old Trafford on Saturday.



It is understood that Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal has already agreed a deal to become United's next permanent manager after this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

But Lindegaard has been blown away by the impact Giggs has made in his new role, and believes he has the potential to scale the same heights as the Bayern Munich boss.

"His last speech before the team went on the pitch before the match against Norwich was spine-tingling in a way that I have only experienced from Sir Alex," the Dane wrote in his column for betfair.com.dk.
"Some might question whether it can work to go from being a team-mate to the manager from one day to the next.
"Normally, I have my reservations, but in Giggs' case, it is another matter.

10 Presidents, 900 Delegates For World Economic Forum In Abuja

No fewer than 10 heads of state and 900 delegates have registered to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Africa beginning in Abuja on May 7, an official said.

The Media Coordinator of the forum, Dr Ogho Okiti, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, saying the affected persons had confirmed their participation.
The forum, which has “Forging Inclusive Growth, Creating Jobs” as its theme, will last three days.
Okiti said that the participants would come from 70 countries, including 30 in Africa.

He said that the countries whose presidents had confirmed participation were Algeria, Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Mali and Nigeria.

Others are Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania and Togo.
He said that a former British Prime Minister, Mr Gordon Brown, and a former President of Brazil, Lula da
Silva, would also attend the forum.

Okiti said that over 50 top chief executive officers of big global firms would participate in the forum and described the number as “unprecedented.”

“It is the first time the summit will hold in West Africa and it is an unprecedented opportunity for both cultural and economic diplomacy for Nigeria and the region.

“The summit is also holding in the year that Nigeria marks its centenary and coincides with the celebration of its being the largest economy in Africa,” he said.
