Osun APC Raises Alarm Over Plot By PDP To Hack INEC Voters’ Data Base

APC-PDP

Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday raised the alarm that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had developed a new strategy to rig the June 21 and August 9 gubernatorial elections in Ekiti and Osun states respectively.
The APC in a statement by its Director of Publicity and Strategy, Kunle Oyatomi in Osogbo, alleged that the PDP was planning to hack into the data base of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to corrupt the voters’ register and disenfranchise thousands of voters by eliminating their names from the register.
However, the PDP in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Bola Ajao denied the allegation, saying APC was only revealing its plan to rig the election.
He said the PDP had always clamoured for the removal of the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC, wondering how the same party that was not pleased with the INEC boss could plan such illicit act with INEC.
But Oyatomi alleged that “the PDP members are reported to have accessed the telephone numbers of the voters and are pretending to be calling from INEC’s office in Osogbo that prospective voters should confirm their voters’ cards’ PIN numbers for security purposes.
